Solving Freemium Engagement and Cross-Device Reliability for a Creative App

Pixel Colour is a mobile application built from the ground up by IPH Technologies for Moo Moo Lab LLC and distributed on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Moo Moo Lab LLC came to IPH with a creative concept of number-matched pixel-art colouring, and IPH’s engineering team took it from initial architecture through to a live, App Store-approved product. The app needed to appeal to two very different user groups — young children and adults using it as a relaxation tool — inside one interface, while supporting a freemium-to-subscription revenue model and staying performant across every current iPhone and iPad.

The platform covers the full creative session lifecycle: image selection, number-matched colouring, accessibility tooling, in-app video capture, daily engagement rewards, and tiered subscription commerce — all engineered to keep users completing artwork and coming back daily. Built by a team that treats consumer app engineering as an ongoing partnership rather than a single launch event, reflected in the app’s continuous, multi-version release history.
